It all started in 1990 when I put together a ride from Warsaw in Poland back to London in the UK via Germany and France to raise money for the charity Marie Curie Cancer Care, it was this 1,200 mile ride that created the recipe and unending enthusiasm to make life about travel, adventure and cycling. This quickly led me into my first really remote ride in 1992 when I first experienced cycling in the Himalayas on the 840 mile ride from Rawalpindi in Pakistan to Kashgar in China on the KKH, this established my never ending love for the big mountain ranges of the world and traveling in a self sufficient way.

Over the years I have learned a lot and I still am, from designing various rides all over the world and looking after lots of different people on them to setting up a boat building factory in China with one of Greenrock’s other directors and friend Gabriel. I am also incredibly lucky to be married to the author of Himalaya by Bike who just happens to be a director of Greenrock. Along with our daughters we make up a very happy team who want to take what we have learned about traveling, cycling and manufacturing in China to create fun and practical bikes for the whole family that help others experience the wonders the world has to offer on 2 wheels.
