Greenrock and charity fundraising

...............................................................................................

Joe Mearns, the founder of Greenrock, was Events Manager for Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children in London, UK. There are few people in the world who combine Joe’s expertise in the charity fundraising world with such a deep love of the outdoors and experience of leading adventure tours.

Greenrock’s team have run events for charities with group sizes from ten to over a thousand, and from one-day events to our three-week ‘Real Tour of France’ where we lead amateur cyclists around the Tour de France route. Our challenges offer excellent opportunities for charities to attract sponsors and motivate individual fundraisers with the promise of travel and adventure.

Greenrock has helped raise millions of pounds for the following charities:

In April 2012 Greenrock organised and led a trek in western Bhutan for 18 fundraisers for The Rowans Hospice. We reached Mt Jhomolhari Base Camp despite unseasonal and heavy snow, and our brave trekkers (average age 52) camped in temperatures down to minus 6! Bhutan was a huge hit with all the trekkers, with Tiger’s Nest monastery, the hot stone baths in Paro and Bhutan’s capital Thimphu being particular highlights. The trek so far has raised over £25,000 for the hospice.
