DAY 1   Tromsø

Fly into Tromsø where you will be met by the back-up team and taken to the Greenrock hotel. Welcome introductions and evening meal. Tromso is the capital of Arctic Scandinavia and a very cool place indeed to spend some time.

In order to respond to the extreme weather conditions in the Arctic the following days are interchangeable.

DAY 2   Lyngseidet – Koppangen (34km)

From Tromsø we transfer to the Greenrock cabin in the Lyngen Alps and on the shores of the Lyngen Fjord. This is where we keep our ice bikes, cross country skis and sea kayaks. We start with an ice bike along the rolling shores of the Lyngen Fjord to the small village of Koppangen, which lies next to the sheer cliffs of the Lyngen Fjord.

DAY 3   Lyngseidet to Storslett (approx 82 km)

This morning starts with our 2nd ferry crossing from Lyngseidet to Olderdalen before we get stuck into the days cycling along a road that will be with us for sometime the E6. We end for the night in the town of Storslett.

DAY 4   Storslett to Burfjord (approx 73 km)

No ferry crossings today just straight on the bikes and onto the E6 to cycle across the headland, islands and inlets before ending up in Burfjord for the night. The usual comforts await.

DAY 5   Burfjord to Alta (approx 102 km)

From Burfjord we start out heading north before cycling alongside the Langfjorden on this the longest day in the saddle. We eventually end up in the town of Alta for the night, a UNESCO site famed for its rock carvings dating from 4200 to 500 BC.

DAY 6   Alta to Skaidi (approx 87 km)

The penultimate day also sees us our final day on the E6 as we head for Skaidi and a night to rest and recoup before the final day.

DAY 7   Skaidi to Hammerfest (approx 57 km)

Today we head north on the 94 to Hammerfest on our final days cycling. Arrival at the hotel marks a well deserved rest, warm up, plenty to eat and drink and relaxation.

DAY 8   Hammerfest - Home

The final day starts with a short flight from Hammerfest to Tromsø before linking with the flight back home.
